Terms of Use
Last updated: 1 October 2026
Scope and provider
These Terms of Use apply to the iOS app "Remi" by Yassine Bouzid, Marthastraße 4, 40629 Düsseldorf, Germany ("we"). By using the app you agree to them. Apple's standard licence agreement (Standard EULA) applies in addition, unless these terms provide otherwise. The contract is between you and us – not with Apple; Apple is, however, entitled to enforce these terms against you.
What Remi is
Remi is an AI-powered reading companion: you talk about your books, keep thoughts, and Remi brings them back to you later. Replies are generated by artificial intelligence and may contain errors despite all care – they are an aid for thinking and remembering, not a reliable source of facts.
Account
To use Remi you need an account (email or Sign in with Apple) and must be at least 16 years old. Keep your credentials secret. You can delete your account at any time in your profile; all associated data is then permanently removed. An active subscription does not end automatically – cancel it separately in your App Store settings.
Remi Plus (subscription)
Remi’s core features are free: adding books, keeping your reading position, capturing thoughts yourself, and viewing and refreshing the thoughts you keep. Talking with Remi and the other AI features require the "Remi Plus" subscription (monthly or yearly; the current price is shown in the App Store before purchase). If the App Store offers you a free trial, you can use Remi Plus free of charge for the period shown there; afterwards the trial automatically converts into the chosen paid subscription unless you cancel beforehand. The subscription is billed via your Apple account and renews automatically until you cancel; after cancelling, it stays active until the end of the current billing period. Manage and cancel: iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions.
Withdrawal and refunds
The purchase is processed by Apple. You exercise your statutory right of withdrawal as a consumer directly with Apple, for example via reportaproblem.apple.com; refunds are also handled by Apple.
Fair usage
To keep Remi affordable for everyone, daily and monthly limits apply to AI features. Once a limit is reached, AI features pause until the allowance renews; Remi tells you when you can continue. You can still access your books, kept thoughts, and refresh sessions.
Your content
Your conversations and kept thoughts remain yours. You grant us only the technical usage rights needed to provide the app (details in the privacy policy).
Acceptable use
Unlawful content, attacks on the app or its interfaces, automated access, and circumventing technical safeguards are not permitted.
Availability and changes
We aim for a continuously available app but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. Features may evolve; we will announce material changes to your disadvantage in good time.
Liability
We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, and for injury to life, body or health. In cases of slight negligence we are liable only for the breach of essential contractual obligations, limited to the typically foreseeable damage. We do not warrant the factual accuracy of individual AI replies.
Final provisions
German law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods; mandatory consumer protection rules of the country of your habitual residence remain unaffected. We are neither obliged nor willing to participate in proceedings before a consumer arbitration board. If individual provisions are invalid, the remainder stays in force.
